SICAM 2026 Initial Results: The Next Step for Furniture Materials

Exposicam has published initial results for SICAM’s 17th edition, held in Pordenone on 20–23 October 2026. The organiser’s early estimates indicate 24,100 trade visitors representing 9,450 companies from 125 countries. These are preliminary organiser figures, not independently audited final totals. The next edition is scheduled for 19–22 October 2027.

Turn a sample into a repeatable specification

A sample box can preserve a beautiful colour while losing the information needed to buy the same material again. Product identity, substrate, finish, pattern direction and care instructions should travel with the physical sample.

Visual similarity is not material equivalence. A stone-effect decorative layer does not automatically behave like natural stone. Nor does a display at a trade fair establish compatibility with a later protective film.

MKK® editorial assessment

Create a short identity record for each selected sample:

ItemInformation to retain
AppearanceColour and decor code, grain direction, gloss
ConstructionActual face material and supporting structure
Intended useHorizontal top, vertical panel or high-contact zone
CareManufacturer-approved products and methods
Additional protectionCompatibility and removal questions for the actual finish

This record connects designers, purchasing staff and installers. Where an added film is considered, evaluate the chosen product against the real surface rather than relying on a catalogue image.

Preparation for the next sourcing cycle can begin with the documents missing from previous projects. A consistent question list makes supplier discussions more useful without treating every sample as technically identical.
