The First Wet Installation

A wet method may make positioning easier, but it is not suitable for every film or substrate. Natural wood, open edges, weak varnish and moisture-sensitive joints can be seriously damaged by liquid. The product instruction and sample test determine the method.

Preparation

Control dust, protect the floor and remove electrical hazards. Mix application fluid from the exact product instruction rather than estimation. Too much soap may delay bond; too little slip may lock the film too early.

Installation flow

Prepare film from the cutting plan.
Inspect the surface under side lighting.
Separate the liner without touching or contaminating adhesive.
Apply only the permitted amount of fluid.
Position without tension.
Use short, overlapping strokes from centre to edge.
Observe where expelled fluid is travelling.
Dry edges with a clean cloth and complete the final pass.

Beginner mistakes

Random strokes trap liquid in closed areas. Excessive first pressure may mark film, while insufficient pressure leaves water. Repeated lifting increases contamination risk.

After installation

Inspect edges, fluid pockets and appearance from several angles. Tell the customer only the curing and use times stated for the exact product.
